šØ Abstract
A nuclear power plant in northern France, Gravelines, had to shut down after a swarm of jellyfish clogged its cooling system. The jellyfish entered the plant's pumping stations, halting four of its six reactors. The shutdown was due to the automatic safety measures triggered by the blocking of filter drums. Although the reactors were offline, the incident posed no safety risks. This event is linked to rising sea temperatures and invasive species due to global warming.
