💨 Abstract
Rodger brought his grandmother Lillian's wartime diary from the Nazi occupation of Guernsey to "The Repair Shop" for restoration. The diary, written in 1942, detailed Lillian's struggles and served as a form of therapy. The family's escape from Guernsey and eventual settlement in Essex were chronicled. After decades of deterioration, the diary was restored, moving Rodger and his grandson Thomas deeply, preserving Lillian's memories and storytelling.
