💨 Abstract

From early 2026, the UK's driving theory test will include questions on CPR and defibrillator use, aiming to enhance drivers' emergency response skills. This change, advocated by the DVSA and bereaved parents, will equip new drivers to act in cardiac emergencies due to incidents like heart attacks or crashes. It follows statistics showing low survival rates for out-of-hospital heart attacks and the significant impact of early defibrillator use on survival chances.
