💨 Abstract

A 13-inch-high kerb installed near Salisbury railway station, intended for pedestrian safety, has caused extensive vehicle damage. Drivers report scraping their cars trying to navigate around it. Wiltshire Council, which installed the kerb as part of a £3.2 million project, has seen several compensation claims since October 2024. An audit is underway, and the council will adjust the gradient to reduce incidents.
