💨 Abstract
An accident occurred at York races involving jockeys Jim Crowley and Trevor Whelan; both were injured. Their horses, Almeraq and Tiger Bay, were unharmed. The crowd watched in stunned silence as both riders fell after Almeraq clipped the heels of another horse. Crowley and Whelan were later taken to the hospital for further assessment. The remainder of the day’s races were delayed. The racecourse asked for privacy and against any further speculation on the incident.
