💨 Abstract
Standing on one leg for a minute can reveal much about your physical health and aging process. A 2023 study in PLoS One found that the ability to maintain this pose declines sharply after age 65, indicating neuromuscular aging. The NHS provides guidelines for how long one should be able to stand on one leg based on age, with times decreasing as age increases. Poor performance in this task is linked to higher risks of ill-health and mortality.
