💨 Abstract

The author recounts their daughter Sophia’s sudden, severe illness in March 2023, initially dismissed as norovirus but escalating to symptoms like vomiting, confusion, and a stiff neck. After a terrifying FaceTime call, Sophia was diagnosed with sepsis caused by bacterial meningitis (MenB), requiring emergency antibiotics and intensive care. She survived but suffered complications, including deafness, heart inflammation, and septic arthritis.
