💨 Abstract
A truck carrying rhesus macaques overturned in Mississippi. The monkeys, from Tulane University, were destined for a Florida test site. Initially, authorities reported health risks including hepatitis C, herpes, and COVID-19, but Tulane clarified the monkeys were not infectious. Six monkeys escaped, with five reportedly "destroyed." The remaining monkeys will be retrieved by Tulane's team. The monkeys are used in scientific research.
