💨 Abstract
An ex-Sergeant Major, Michael Webber, was jailed for six months after admitting to sexually assaulting a 19-year-old soldier, Jaysley Beck, who later took her own life. Beck reported the assault to her superiors but was dissuaded from pursuing it further. Webber was promoted despite the complaint. Beck's mother described her daughter's distress and loss of trust in the system. The court noted Webber's persistent behavior despite Beck's protests.
