💨 Abstract
Kevin Lakeman, a convicted rapist from Sunderland, may be released from prison soon after serving 12 years of a life sentence for raping and attempting to rape multiple women. Lakeman, 63, targeted lone women at night and was accused of attacking around 90 women, sometimes with a knife. Despite victims' calls for a public parole hearing, the parole board will assess his release in private, considering his prison progress and public risk.
