💨 Abstract
The UK government is simplifying rules for home electric vehicle (EV) charging. Key changes include removing planning permission requirements for cross-pavement charging gullies, potentially waiving application fees, and fast-tracking installations. Additionally, new covered public car parks must have charging points. The government is also addressing high charging fees for tenants and aiming to install 100,000 new chargepoints.
