💨 Abstract

Sudan is in the midst of a severe civil war, with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia expanding control by seizing El Fasher, the last army-held city in Darfur. The RSF, led by General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, has been accused of ethnic cleansing and human rights abuses. The conflict, which began in April 2023, has resulted in widespread destruction and a dire humanitarian crisis, with over 24 million people facing acute food insecurity.
