💨 Abstract
A national review, Operation Beaconport, is examining 1,273 cases of alleged sexual abuse gangs, with 236 prioritized due to rape allegations. Initial findings suggest some investigations were dropped due to human error, including missed lines of inquiry and improper practices. The review, covering 2010–2025, will involve thousands of officers. Officials are recording suspect and victim ethnicity, flagging risks, and ensuring transparency with victims.
