💨 Abstract
If you’ve moved or switched energy providers in the last five years, you may be owed part of £240 million in unclaimed credit. Ofgem reports that nearly 2 million closed accounts have leftover balances. Most are refunded automatically, but if you moved or canceled a direct debit, you may need to claim it. Check your old account online or contact your supplier. Be wary of scams—Ofgem won’t contact you directly.
