💨 Abstract

In Chernobyl, Dr. Jennifer Betz and her team spotted unusual blue dogs, which were likely coated in a non-toxic blue disinfectant. These dogs are descendants of pets left behind after the 1989 nuclear disaster. The Dogs of Chernobyl campaign, part of the Clean Futures Fund, aims to sterilize and care for these stray dogs. Despite concerns about radiation, the blue color was due to a chemical, not radiation.
