💨 Abstract
Mike McAdam, a 32-year-old Londoner, suddenly experienced severe depression in 2017 despite having no prior mental health issues and a stable life. His condition worsened, leading to impulsive spending, loss of appetite, and suicidal thoughts. After struggling to find adequate help from the NHS, he was eventually diagnosed with bipolar disorder type 2 at a private psychiatric hospital.
