💨 Abstract

Jamie Loan and her husband Kyle moved to Whittier, a remote seaside town in Southern Alaska, seven years ago. Whittier, with its population of just 272, is known for its extreme climate and isolation, accessible only via a 2.5-mile tunnel through a mountain. The town's unique charm includes a high-rise building housing most residents, a network of tunnels for winter travel, and a close-knit community.
