💨 Abstract

The author recounts personal experiences of Islamophobia in Britain, from childhood to adulthood, highlighting the pervasive and often silent nature of such incidents. She notes that Muslim women are disproportionately targeted, with 85% of religious hate crimes against Muslims in public spaces directed at women. The author emphasizes the importance of Islamophobia Awareness Month in combating this issue and calls for collective action from society, media, schools, and workplaces to address and stamp out Islamophobic behavior.
