💨 Abstract

Two funeral directors, Richard Elkin and Hayley Bell, face prison for running a fraudulent business. They left decomposing bodies in an unrefrigerated mortuary for over a month. Investigators found unpaid debts, dilapidated premises, and 40 unaccounted bodies. Elkin and Bell were convicted of public nuisance, preventing burial, and operating without a license. Elkin also forged a funeral directing certificate.
