McDonald’s UK celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024, with its first restaurant opening in Woolwich in 1974. The global chain now has over 44,000 outlets. Meanwhile, Greggs, a UK bakery chain, was founded in 1939 by John Gregg. It started as a delivery service for baking ingredients and opened its first bakery in 1951.
