💨 Abstract

At least 40 young people died and 115 were injured in a New Year's party fire at Le Constellation bar in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. The blaze, caused by a lit candle, quickly spread, trapping revellers in the basement. The single staircase led to a crush as people tried to escape. The fire, described as an 'embrasement généralisé,' resulted in severe burns and smoke inhalation.
