💨 Abstract

The author recounts two incidents of racial harassment on public transport in London, highlighting the rise in racial hate crimes. In 2022, an older white man verbally abused Black and Asian passengers, including the author, on a bus. Later, on the tube, drunk white men harassed the author, making derogatory comments and using racial slurs. The author feels trapped and vulnerable in these situations, noting the increase in such incidents and the normalization of racism.
