💨 Abstract

An 80-year-old man was rescued from a windowless basement in Helsinki, Finland, where he had lived in inhumane conditions for decades. The man, who voluntarily moved into the house over 20 years ago, was found without a toilet, cooking facilities, or hygiene options. Three individuals in their 60s were arrested but later released. Police are investigating potential human trafficking and financial exploitation. The victim is now receiving care and is in good condition.
