💨 Abstract

Nico Antic, a 12-year-old boy, died after being mauled by a shark in Sydney Harbour. He was swimming with friends at Nielsen Park when attacked by a suspected bull shark. Despite his friends' efforts to save him, Nico suffered fatal injuries. His parents expressed their grief and thanked the community and medical teams. Nico was brain dead and passed away just weeks before his 13th birthday. Another shark attack occurred shortly after, injuring a surfer.
