💨 Abstract

A woman, Samantha Smith, is suing the NHS after undergoing six years of unnecessary chemotherapy for a brain tumor. She was treated at University Hospital Coventry under Professor Ian Brown, who is now under investigation. Smith, who has been unable to work since her diagnosis, experienced severe side effects and is seeking answers and prevention of similar cases. The hospital trust acknowledged the excessive treatment and has implemented changes to prevent recurrence. Another patient may have also received over-treatment.
