💨 Abstract
A Nectar scam, where shoppers' points are stolen, continues to affect users in 2026. A Sainsbury's shopper, Jade, reported that her Nectar points were used without her knowledge. The scam involves using account serial numbers to spend points without ID checks. To prevent this, users can lock their point spending via the Nectar app. Nectar has measures in place to detect and prevent fraud, including the Spend Lock feature.
