💨 Abstract
A mural in Rome's Basilica of San Lorenzo in Lucina, featuring an angel with a face resembling Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, was erased after a Vatican complaint. The fresco, restored by Bruno Valentinetti, sparked controversy as it was seen as potential propaganda. The priest, Daniele Micheletti, ordered its removal due to the influx of visitors distracting from religious activities. Valentinetti denied intentionally depicting Meloni, claiming he restored the original design.
