💨 Abstract
Supermarkets use psychological tricks to encourage spending, such as price referencing. Martin Lewis highlighted this at a Co-op, where a twin pack of Jaffa Cakes was priced at £1.85, while a single pack with fewer cakes cost £2.25. This makes the twin pack seem like a better deal, but it's not necessarily cheap. Shoppers are advised to check the unit price to determine the best value.
