💨 Abstract
An underwater sinkhole named Taam ja’ in Chetumal Bay, Belize, challenges scientists trying to measure its depth. Initial sonar readings suggest it's about 900 feet deep, but this is uncertain due to varying water conditions. Divers found uneven, squishy walls transitioning to firmer rock. A 1,640-foot cable didn't reach the bottom, and currents may have affected measurements.
