💨 Abstract

The exclusion zone around the WWII ship SS Richard Montgomery, carrying explosives, has been expanded in the Thames Estuary. The ship sank in 1944 with 14,571 bombs still onboard. Experts warn that an explosion could cause a tsunami, flooding London and nearby areas. From March 23 to April 5, shipping traffic must avoid the area while investigators survey the wreck.
