đ¨ Abstract
A British-run dog shelter in Erbil, Iraq, faces closure due to government orders, threatening the lives of 700 animals. War Paws, which has operated since 2018, provides care for stray dogs, donkeys, and cats. The shelter must relocate to make way for warehouses, but moving would cost $300,000 and likely result in the euthanization of the animals, as they cannot survive as strays.
