💨 Abstract
Astronomers using the James Webb Space Telescope discovered TOI-5205 b, a giant planet nearly as large as Jupiter orbiting a small, cool star. This "forbidden" planet challenges existing formation theories. Its atmosphere has low metallicity and contains methane and hydrogen sulfide. Researchers suggest heavy elements migrated inward during formation, leading to a carbon-rich, oxygen-poor atmosphere. Further observations aim to understand how such planets form.
