💨 Abstract

The U.S. Selective Service System will now automatically register eligible men aged 18-25 for the military draft, streamlining the process. This change does not indicate an active draft, as the U.S. hasn't had one since the Vietnam War. Failing to register can result in fines and prison time. While tensions with Iran rise, bringing back the draft would require congressional approval, not just an executive order.
