💨 Abstract
As of April 10, the EU has implemented a new Entry and Exit System (EES) that replaces physical passport stamps with digital checks. Travelers from non-EU countries, including the UK, must now undergo biometric screening (fingerprints and facial scans) at EU airports and border points. This change is expected to cause delays, with some predicting waits up to four hours. Airlines like easyJet and Jet2 have advised passengers to prepare for longer queues.
