💨 Abstract

The popularity of free-to-play multiplayer PC games is declining, with players increasingly engaging with a broader range of titles. In 2025, the top 20 PC games generated less than half of the platform's revenue, indicating growth in other genres like role-playing and adventure games. This shift is driven by durable, premium, and back-catalogue games, rather than new releases. Meanwhile, console revenue remains concentrated in top games.
