Andrew Lloyd Webber, 78, has revealed he is a 'recovering alcoholic' after a difficult period 18 months ago. He sought help and now attends Alcoholics Anonymous meetings daily. His wife, Madeleine Gurdon, had felt overwhelmed by his addiction. Lloyd Webber found AA meetings beneficial, appreciating the equality and camaraderie. He admitted that his drinking, including vodka to hide his habit, affected his work and creativity.
