💨 Abstract
The axolotl, a critically endangered amphibian, can regrow limbs and organs, making it a subject of interest for scientists studying human limb regeneration. Alongside mice and zebrafish, which also have regenerative abilities, researchers identified common genetic mechanisms that could support future therapies for humans. The study, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, focused on SP genes essential for regeneration in all three species.
