💨 Abstract

A scientific breakthrough at Duke University offers hope for treating blindness and vision loss. Researchers used induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to grow specialized retinal blood vessel cells, which restored retinal function in mice with retinal disease. These cells integrated into damaged tissue, regenerated blood vessels, and could model various eye diseases. The findings, published in *Nature Biomedical Engineering*, suggest potential new methods for treating vision loss and eye disorders.
