Microsoft's Xbox division is reportedly facing significant layoffs and studio closures. Undead Labs, known for "State of Decay," is among the studios potentially shutting down unless a buyer is found. Other studios like Ninja Theory, Compulsion Games, and Double Fine may also close or regain independence. These layoffs, expected in early July, could be the largest in gaming history, according to industry insider George Broussard. Microsoft has not officially commented on these reports.
