💨 Abstract

The article discusses the challenges faced by schools and parents due to increasing heatwaves in the UK. Schools offer early pick-up times, but this disrupts parents' work and children's learning. The author argues that the UK's infrastructure, including schools, is not equipped to handle rising temperatures, which are becoming more frequent and intense. The solution lies in government investment in better school buildings, air conditioning, and shaded outdoor spaces to adapt to the changing climate.
