💨 Abstract

During the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine. Modi stated that the conflict sets humanity back and called for a peaceful resolution. Putin, who insists on ending the war on his terms, acknowledged Modi's remarks but made no specific commitments. Modi also praised growing economic ties between India and Russia, noting India's significant purchases of Russian oil.
