💨 Abstract

Six months into joint US-Israel strikes on Iran, the US has not declared war. Vice President JD Vance argues that the strikes aren't a war due to the lack of active combat. However, this has led to issues, such as the widow of a soldier killed in Iran not receiving full death benefits. The US has conducted recent strikes against Iranian military targets in response to threats in the Strait of Hormuz.
