💨 Abstract
Scientists are exploring a lunar pit, the Marius Hills Pit (MHP), for potential human habitation. NASA's GIMLI project, led by the Planetary Science Institute, will send instruments and robots to investigate an underground cave that could shield astronauts from radiation and temperature extremes. The mission aims to use ground-penetrating radar, seismic sensors, and a gravimeter to detect and study any underground voids or lava tubes.
