šØ Abstract
Several countries are implementing or considering bans on social media for children and teens to protect them from cyberbullying, addiction, mental health issues, and predators. Australia was the first to enforce such a ban in December 2025 for users under 16, with penalties for non-compliant companies. Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, Malaysia, Slovenia, Spain, and the UK are also exploring similar measures.
