Pulmonary fibrosis is a progressive lung disease characterized by scarring, disrupted alveolar architecture, and impaired gas exchange. It encompasses over 200 interstitial lung diseases, with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis being the most common and severe form. The disease predominantly affects males aged 50-70 years, with varying prevalence globally.
