India opposes illegal immigration, which is linked to organized crime, and will take back deported Indians from the US if their nationality is verified. The US is planning to deport approximately 18,000 Indians illegally staying in the country, with Trump administration enforcing a sweeping immigration crackdown. This issue was discussed in talks between Indian and American foreign ministers.
