💨 Abstract

The ongoing conflict between the U.S. and Venezuela, led by President Donald Trump and Nicolas Maduro, respectively, has deep historical roots. The crisis began with Hugo Chávez's election in 1998, who was anti-American and aligned with Cuba. Chávez's successor, Maduro, has faced U.S. sanctions and accusations of election fraud. Trump has attempted to remove Maduro, recognizing opposition leaders and imposing sanctions. Recently, Trump claimed to have captured Maduro, escalating tensions.
