The mutual fund industry in India experienced a 4% drop in assets under management (AUM) to Rs 64.5 lakh crore in February from January, due to a stock market sell-off. Retail investors continued to invest through Systematic Investment Plans (SIP), but overall equity investments declined significantly. Equity inflows dropped to Rs 29,241.78 crore in February from Rs 39,669.
