The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has lifted the ceiling on interchange fees for ATM withdrawals, effective from May 1, 2025. Customers can perform five free transactions per month from their bank's ATMs, and three in metro areas, five in non-metro areas from other banks. Beyond the free transactions, a maximum fee of Rs 23 per transaction will be charged.
