đź’¨ Abstract
The Indian government has withdrawn a 20% export duty on onions, effective from April 1, 2025. This decision was made due to increased domestic availability of onions and a decline in prices, following the expected arrival of rabi crops. Despite export restrictions, the total onion export during 2023-24 and 2024-25 was 28.82 lakh tonnes.
